Along the same lines quality-wise, the 2011 Condrieu Les Grandes Chaillees is more fresh and detailed, with notions of white peach, lychee and flowers flowing to a medium-bodied, beautifully fresh and pure texture on the palate. Very precise and pure, this beauty will thrill for 3-4 years.

While the 2011 reds from proprietor Stephan Montez were good to very good, his Condrieus were stunning.

On the other hand, I was blown away by the 2011 Condrieu Les Grandes Chailles because of its freshness, precision and beautiful notes of marmalade, lychee nuts, spring flowers and white peaches. I have not included the 2011 Condrieu Chanson as it was impossible to taste being so full of CO2.

One of my favorite young growers in the Northern Rhone is Stephan Montez. Both 2010 cuvees are spectacular.
